DAVE ROSKOS

Poem for Michael

I hope death is not an ordeal

a swirl of bureaucracy

& paperwork

waiting rooms

& confrontations with clerks

in windowless cubicles

or is it a cocktail party

that never ended

where everyone is young again

& doesn’t have a drinking problem

Long Live Michael Pingarron!

Captain Ahab

one wild eye

bent mouth

slurred speech

incendiary poems

spat like grenades

full of seeds
