RANDY ROARK
My
Fascination with Her Is Enormous and Intricate
In the glassed-in alcove, as I walk
briskly past the café in the winter cold, she looks up from her change, a flash
of dark azure in the ghostly light of the luminous bleak late morning, her
coffee steaming, her serenity and assurance like my own, a tired wistfulness
for what had promised so much and is now lost in the afterglow, disappeared
into the distance where the misty sunlight leads us.
