BOB RIXON
(Untitled)
It is May
& I have
missed
half of this
spring
you bring it to
me now
with a lovely
sleepless night
At 2 a.m. I am
reading
the poets of
Provence
I hear the bird
singing
at 3 a.m.
sad &
hopeful riffs
at 4 a.m. I am
consumed
with hunger
I light the
kitchen
searching for a
snack
but it is you
I am seeking
at 5 a.m. birds
again
seagulls fly
over
on their way to
the park
but it is you
who sails over
my bed
the trees throw
off
their shadows
there are
flowers
beneath them
now I can see
this spring
you have brought
it to me.
