A
puppy died and a Boulder man required treatment for hypothermia after the dog
fell
through the ice at the Boulder Reservoir Saturday afternoon.
Boulder
police Sgt. Dave Seper said the man had given the puppy as a Christmas gift to
his
16-year-old daughter. The pair were walking the puppy at the reservoir when it
ran
out on the ice and fell through.
The
man went in after the dog, but wasn't able to rescue it, Seper said. The man
was able
to
get out of the water on his own, but he was transported to Boulder Community
Hospital for treatment for hypothermia.
The dive team was activated but was not able to find the puppy, Seper said.

Those new biodegradable spike inserts keep those hounds moving
and with a lot less paw damage too.
