THOMAS R. PETERS, Jr.
I-95
Do
you understand Nostradamus or the Amazon
or the man opening his black umbrella
while the motorcade drove by––
They
live inside me like old recipes.
These
are the elements of love
that consume us all like fruit
as we descend from the earth
continuously with the
delicacy of sheep
I
love your hips & their furious tempo
perfect in tone, delicate as olives
&
profound as circus animals on parade.
I
greet the new day with a Fresca
in love with antique stores & silencers
that make me one with the eternal ground.
