HOLLY JONES
A Letter In A Slight Dark
I have been here
before
watching one fall way––
to most want
those that leave the fastest.
You moved slower
than often death’s summon––
a collapse into absence.
You exist in
departures.
You leave
nothing you need.
You never say
good-bye.
It is clear to
me
that nothing
is wholly mine,
not even myself.
Now I am wrapped
in the sleeve of your absence.
This must be
what I need to be––
tangled in the void,
writing
