We are in London

At the Portobello Gold hotel

Drinking gin and tonic

At outdoor cafe

The girl behind me says

To the guy she’s with

‘How young is young?

Nineteen?’

‘Sixteen’

‘That’s young’

and then she says

‘weird karaoke

unbelievable cheese’

and that’s not weird

just pleasant very pleasant

seventy-three and sunny
