JIM COHN

Powder Puff Baby Blue ’65 Dodge Powerwagon

The alleys are muddy from yesterday’s towering, monstrous hail.
Alleys pocked like 10 thousand rounds were shot from the sky.
Three and three-quarters hours ago Judgment Day was foretold to come.
I’m sitting inside The Alhambra, playing “Cowgirl in the Sand.”
It is sunset. I sweep up spring leaves beaten to the ground.
“Arab Spring” is parked in front of the white garage––
The powder puff baby blue ’65 powerwagon.
If it was mine, I’d give it to Astrid.
