REWROTE THE BOOK

You went into a trance to live.

Chose a one room flat when you had a mansion.

Trying not to face

What you don’t know how to face.

You cross the room, I do not know your name.

But from this moment I will never be the same.

And all the thoughts I use to defuse what I feel

Seem written long ago by no one here.

All your life, the words burn bright inside of you.

As tears go by, I turn & look.

This is the evening we rewrote the book.

In the pages of your walls nothing hides.

Who can’t you live without this time?

You want it so badly but do you wonder why

Every hurt that touches you brings grace that waits inside.

All your life, the words burn bright inside of you.

As tears go by, I turn & look.

This is the evening we rewrote the book.
